I'm Adaku Oliver-Nnona

Most of my clients come to me because something has happened, something is stuck, or they need someone who can see what they can’t see. My work is to find the risks others miss, tell leaders the truth about them, and help them respond with confidence before a quiet problem becomes a public one.

My path to this work wasn’t linear. I started in financial services in Dublin, moved into community development and migrant women’s advocacy, worked in political representation at Leinster House, and spent years in grassroots organising before founding PhoenixRize in 2017. That range means I understand how institutions work from the inside, and what it looks like when they fail the people they are supposed to serve.

TODAY
Delivering workplace culture, anti-racism, and inclusion work across screen, higher education, public, and corporate sectors.

Working across Ireland and Nigeria

I operate in two distinct workplace cultures, and I understand how power, hierarchy, communication, and inclusion function differently in each context.

Ireland

🇮🇪

Ireland

Equality, governance and inclusion in Irish workplaces

I work with organisations navigating culture reviews, inclusion frameworks, and equality obligations shaped by Irish and European legislation. I help screen organisations respond to Screen Ireland’s Six-Point Plan, support higher education institutions building inclusive leadership, and advise public bodies and cultural institutions on governance and accountability.

My Irish work spans the screen, higher education, healthcare and public sectors, including Screen Ireland, Safe to Create, RCSI, IADT and TU Dublin. The focus is consistent: helping leaders see culture risks early and respond with confidence, before they become complaints, disputes or reputational damage.

Nigeria
🇳🇬

Nigeria

Gender, governance and inclusion in Nigerian workplaces

I work with Nigerian organisations and multinationals operating in Nigeria to build fair, consistent workplaces where people can raise concerns safely, with a particular focus on women’s advancement, gender and conduct. I have delivered a session on advancing women in corporate treasury for the Association of Corporate Treasurers of Nigeria (ACTN), a keynote on addressing sexism for a major energy-sector organisation, and served as a gender inclusion expert on a gender equity and inclusion audit and strategy programme for a leading Nigerian business school, delivered through an established Nigerian consultancy.

My work in Nigeria focuses on women in leadership, harassment and conduct, and building inclusive cultures that hold professional standards while fitting the local context. I support Nigerian leadership teams strengthening their own workplace cultures, as well as global organisations adapting their frameworks for the Nigerian context.

I don’t believe in copy-paste solutions. Inclusion work must fit the context it is operating in. What works in Dublin won’t necessarily work in Lagos, and vice versa.

I also hold an MBA from the University of Lagos, postgraduate certificates in Theories of Race and Ethnicity (Trinity College Dublin) and Women, Gender & Social Justice (University College Dublin), and an MA in Development Studies (Kimmage DSC). My professional facilitator certifications include Everything DiSC® Management Facilitator and Everything DiSC® Workplace Facilitator, QQI Level 6 in Train the Trainer, and QQI Level 6 in Life & Career Coaching.

Consulting experience

Since founding PhoenixRize in 2017, I’ve delivered over 200 DEI training sessions including anti-racism workshops, bystander intervention, microaggression awareness, and inclusive leadership programmes. I’ve conducted DEI audits and action plans across 11+ organisations spanning creative industries, healthcare, higher education, and NGOs. I’ve been an EDI Leadership Development Associate with Advance HE for several years, delivering bystander awareness, unconscious bias in academia and leading race equality programmes across Irish universities.
